Our Philosophy & Programs
At Newbridge Prep, we offer families a diverse assortment of program options. Our preschool is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 6:15 p.m., and we maintain a variety of schedule options including full and partial week (M, W, & F or T & Th) and full or part-time hours. Summer and holiday camps are also available to accommodate the needs of working families. Newbridge Prep is a year-round facility.
Newbridge Prep accepts children ages 2 to 5. Our programs are deeply rooted in the work of Harvard Professor, Howard Gardner. Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences reminds us that how children learn is as important as what children learn. For this reason, our NEWBRIDGE PREP programs offer a wonderful balance of developmentally appropriate structured learning and play. This philosophy is what we call a holistic preparatory preschool education. At Newbridge, we believe that the ideal preschool environment is one that facilitates active, hands-on experiences for children and encourages children to develop a natural love of learning while focusing on their emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development. We pride ourselves on providing individualized attention and support, so each child is able to reach his/her full potential.
We staff our classes with two qualified co-teachers who remain your child’s teachers for the entire day, every day, all year long. We do not combine classes or send teachers home on days when enrollment dips, so your child has consistency and comfort with his/her teachers and peers throughout the entire school year.
At Newbridge Prep, we go beyond the status quo. Our standard programs provide students with Spanish class, Computer lab and a physical education class such as Zumba, Yoga or Tumble/Gymnastics at no additional costs. For convenience, we also work with local dance and sports vendors who provide additional “after school” classes for those families who are interested.
Additionally, we believe that family involvement is key to a child’s social development and academic success. Newbridge Prep hosts numerous school wide functions throughout the year such as our Fall Festival, Mommy & Me/Daddy & Me Mornings and our Family Night at the Book Fair to name a few.
The Newbridge Prep Toddler program focuses on the development of Sensory Motor and Language Acquisition Skills. We truly understand the importance of helping children in this age group begin to experiment with less dependent functioning and more independent functioning. Additionally, our toddler program is designed to help children polish their group socialization skills as they begin engaging in higher levels of group play. During this developmental period, it is critical to help children actively engage in a diverse array of experiences by empowering them to make safe choices while helping them quench their instinctive curiosity about the world that surrounds them.
At Newbridge Prep, our preschool programs focus on helping children connect their learning styles with sensory input. Through the use of our carefully designed classroom learning centers and our comprehensive thematic units, children are able to engage with content in the manner that best suits their preferred learning style while allowing them to polish their lesser developed learning styles. This critical developmental period is one in which children need to be encouraged and provided ample opportunities to hypothesize, work and play cooperatively, formulate opinions, problem solve, and actively engage with the world that surrounds them. Our preschool students continue polishing their academic skills in the areas of literacy/reading, writing, mathematics, social studies, and science. By the time they conclude their journey at NEWBRIDGE PREP, they are fully prepared to advance to Kindergarten and beyond well ahead of their peers. Many of our Newbridge Prep grads are accepted into local private schools and gifted programs
